Skate 3 sadly fails to take the leaps and bounds that Skate 2 made; it's not as progressive or original. However, it is still the undisputed king of skateboarding games, and if you're new to the franchise, you'd do well to pick it up. If you're a dedicated fan, on the other hand, you're likely going to walk away from Skate 3 a little disappointed that Black Box didn't push the envelope further and make it a different experience from that which came before it. Clearly, Skate 3 has its fair share of mostly minor problems. But this is the best game in the series regardless, and given the state of Activision's Tony Hawk series right now, that makes it the best skateboarding game around by default.
