Mass Effect 2's third-person shooting action is greatly enhanced over the original, making battles exciting and violent, which befits the overall shift in tone. Battles play out as they do in a typical cover-based shooter like Gears of War, with a few caveats (you can't tumble, for example). Sliding into cover is slick and easy, as is popping in and out to take potshots at the wide variety of foes that assault you. Action sequences still present a few rare hangups; you... Read more
Mass Effect 2 is sitting pretty atop of the mountain at the moment. It's really the gamer's game, and is hard to fault. With so much to do, and more undoubtedly on the way via downloadable content, it's easy to justify the price of admission. Even though the experience has been streamlined, it doesn't take away the fact that the Mass Effect series is by-far one of the better and most rewarding experiences on our fair console. It is expansive, impressive and actually draws from relevant scientific theories and astrophysics. It’s just a shame that the awe we felt from the first... Read more

This will be one of the most personal experiences you ever have with a video game, forcing you to make important decisions that could have massive... Read more
