Genre mixing in video games is nothing new and the most popular genre to get mixed seems to be the RPG. While not everyone has the patience, skill and nous to get around the intricacies and conventions of the genre, aspects such as levelling up seem to be the gun way to give a natural sense of progress. Combine this with the popular FPS genre, along with the newfound popularity of co-operative play, and chances are that you’re on something. Add in a zany, outlandish... Read more

Borderlands is one of the most pleasant surprises of 2009 – who could have known a cel-shaded FPS with oodles of loot and some lite RPG elements would work so well? The art style is great, the co-op is a blast, and while it's far from perfect, Pandora is a planet well worth exploring. Borderlands is a fun – if not a tad simplistic – shooter that will appeal to the gear junkies and RPG heads as much as it will FPS fans. Read more

If you survive enemy encounters, then you're rewarded with loot aplenty. The quality of the weapons, shields, and mods continues to increase as your level increases (the new cap is 61), and there is even a robust new type of chest for your looting pleasure. The ratio of quality goods to vending-machine fodder remains about the same, but the new heights of quality (and elusive super-rare designation) are sure to rekindle your desire to search every last chest and... Links Articles Borderlands Review By Nonny 0Z Published: Mar. 6, 2010 11:00 AM The game arguably lives and dies on its gun-combat and thankfully this is most likely it’s real saving grace and surely down to Gearbox being responsible for the Brothers In Arms games before this. While the AI sometimes shows flaws and the vehicular combat is rough and ready this game feels as good as any FPS title out there when you’re running and gunning, taking out the enemy. While... The Secret Armory of General Knoxx is by far one of the best pieces of DLC out there and will give you a minimum of ten hours of gameplay, significantly more if you want to hit the new level cap, and with more Borderlands DLC on the way, they certainly know what the fans want, and how to deliver the goods. Borderlands is a wasteland type game which makes it heaps of fun. You can choose from 4 starting characters. One is the soldier, the second is the hunter, the third is BRICK and the last is lilith. All three have their own unique power. You get to drive around in vehicles squishing skags and bandits. Another point which makes this game terrific is that no two weapons are the same. You can find a sniper with a acid elemental effect on it. This can burn a bandits face off... Read more
