I would go as far as saying that Borderlands is a must have game for fans of first-person-shooters and for fans role-playing-games, as it does such a great job of tying the two together into hybrid of sorts. Mixed with high stylised visuals, blood lust, an almost endless array of weapons and some fast paced action with the co-op mode and you've got a winner. Read more

Borderlands is one of the most pleasant surprises of 2009 – who could have known a cel-shaded FPS with oodles of loot and some lite RPG elements would work so well? The art style is great, the co-op is a blast, and while it's far from perfect, Pandora is a planet well worth exploring. Borderlands is leading the way with the new FPS/RPG genre. It strikes a comfortable balance between real-time combat and character advancement. The randomization of weapons keeps you looking for the next big gun, and the drop in / out co-op will have you searching for the Vault with others for a long time.
