Pros & Cons

  • fun multiplayer, accomplished shooting, intriguing plot, a marshmallow, great pacing
  • online multiplayer is disappointing, fairly short game, the much, the price, choices feel meaningless

Set approximately 10 years after the events of the original BioShock, the halls of Rapture once again echo with sins of the past. Along the Atlantic coastline, a monster has been snatching little girls and bringing them back to the undersea city of Rapture. You are the very first Big Daddy as you travel through the decrepit and beautiful fallen city, chasing an unseen foe in search of answers and your own survival. Multiplayer in BioShock 2 provides a rich prequel exp…

As a Big Daddy, you're only too familiar with the way that ADAM is obtained: the Little Sisters. Making regular rounds in Rapture, the adorable but intensely creepy Little Sisters seek out ADAM-rich corpses (which they lovingly refer to as "angels") to drain with their wicked-looking needles. Each Little Sister is guarded by a Big Daddy, and unfortunately, there's no secret handshake that will get a Big Daddy to part willingly with his tiny charge--you've got to put him... Read more

As long as you’re not expecting innovation you will enjoy what Bioshock 2 has to offer. Don’t neglect the multiplayer component as there is much fun to be had there. Rapture will live for ever and little sisters are just as creepy as ever. Go get this Mr Bubbles, GO! Read more

It's unlikely that someone who hated the first game will find the second amazing, but there's a decent chance someone who merely disliked the first will find their complaints fixed this time around. Those who liked BioShock will love BioShock 2 - it has a great story, great characters (Gil Alexander is no Sander Cohen, but he puts in a good effort) and refined gameplay - it's engineered to be loved by BioShock fans. When I prematurely touted Mass Effect 2 as the game of the year, the gaming Gods sent us BioShock 2 as a reminder that the year is still young after all. As far as unnecessary sequels go, this is truly the best of them. The story-telling remains thought-provoking, with an incredible cast of Rapture-dwelling folk to take you on the ride. And with story aside, BioShock 2 improves on the original in every way. It's a far more solid experience that is a blast to play from... Read more

The original Bioshock released in 2007 was a surprise to everyone is its execution of a fantastic underwater city brimming to the hilt with atmosphere. The 1960s-inspired failed utopian society of Rapture and your quest to find Andrew Ryan was a story so brilliantly told and a vision so masterfully fulfilled that many fans rued the need for a sequel. However, as publishers and budgets dictate that sequels to successful games were a safer bet than a totally new IP, it was... Read more

As a older female gamer I don't impress easily and want more from a shooter game than lots of blood and gore! Bioshock 2 was probably one of the most anticapated game sequels and does not disappoint. I thoroughly enjoyed Bioshock and was concerned that Bioshock 2 would be a let down, but far from it! I'm really impressed with this sequel. Am amazing amount of work and attention to detail has gone into this game and all involved are to be highly commended. The atmopshere... Read more
