From the very beginning of the game, dozens of different combo attacks can be performed with the right recipe of button presses and timing, but even more advanced techniques are available for purchase from Rodin as well. In an ingenious move, the between-level loading screens also double as a practice mode of sorts where you can play around with each of Bayonetta's attacks. Read more

Bayonetta is good like icecream is good. It may not be 40/40 and it may not change the direction of desserts in any meaningful way, but it’s a tasty treat and should be enjoyed for the simple pleasures it brings. Pros Excellent combat, amusingly titillating in a kind of juvenile way, some cut scenes of sheer genius, genuinely funny in parts. A solid start to a new franchise. Intro and torture moves for Joy - awesome. Cons There is NO reason for "fly me to the moon". Read more

If this is the case change the score to a 10. As it is, it is more a failed attempt to deliver a story so stupid it becomes awesome. If I want to objectify women I have the internet, if I want to make my ears bleed I have iTunes and if I wanted to watch something flip between comedy and serious and accomplish neither, I have season six of Scrubs on DVD. Bayonetta seems to be quite the rage at the moment, and it needs to be in good form as well in order to take on the likes of THQ ‘s Darksiders , which was also released on the same day. Both are action games , both feature gigantic enemies, both have a battle between Heaven & Hell but both seem to have faults in different areas. Read more

Bayonetta is the latest from master mind developer Hideki Kamiya , known for popular Capcom games such as Devil May Cry , Resident Evil , Okami and Viewtiful Joe among others. Bayonetta however, comes under the Sega banner and aims to be the second coming of the stylish action genre. It feels like the true successor to the original Devil May Cry (arguably the first game that coined the term ‘stylish’ action) and is a game that really raises the bar for the action... Read more
