If you only just picked up Burnout 3 as a budget title and are still playing through it, I honestly can't say if there's enough to justify you heading back out to pick up Burnout Revenge. However, the sensation of speed, the massive amounts of carnage and the extremely polished experience all add up to create the coolest game in the series so far, and one of the top arcade racing experiences for the Xbox and Xbox Live. More of the same plus a whole bunch more, if you are a Burnout fan, then there are more than enough new elements to entertain you again, and if you are new to the series, then your in for a wild, fast, but no doubt highly enjoyable ride. Pros Fantastic graphics and sense of speed; big, detailed, varied levels with multiple routes; new elements such as traffic checking, vertical takedowns and revenge rivals fit in nicely; multiplayer is rock solid; a great deal of polish. With demonic dashes through crowded city streets – and an unhealthy focus on catastrophic crashes – Burnout has quickly earned a reputation as the fiercest, most aggressive gear-grinder on the shelves. But if you thought Burnout 3 was mean, you ain’t seen nothing yet. For this latest edition the crashes have been taken to devastating new heights, allowing players to use innocent motorists as weapons; slamming into the rear-end of a non-racing vehicle, for example,... Burnout 2 was an incredible game, so when EA published Burnout 3 last year and it was actually better than it's predecessor, people started taking note of the franchise. The game was critically acclaimed (can anyone pick the pun there?) by the gaming press and general public, for its incredible races and fast gameplay, and with everything that was happening, the game never skipped a beat, keeping a constant 60FPS the whole way through.
