Throughout the years, the Silent Hill franchise has gradually lost focus of its psychological roots and moved instead toward an ultimately subpar, more action-oriented experience. Shattered Memories is a fantastic return to the core concept of personal fear, and though its developers made some unorthodox decisions--such as removing combat entirely--those decisions have paid off handsomely. Immersive, scary and completely enjoyable experience. This is an excellent title and I heartily encourage anyone who has played previous Silent Hill games to give this a go. The control scheme is also one of the most intuitive and well thought out of a Wii game I have played. Pros Awesome control scheme, wonderful immersion and a truly atmospheric title. The act of removing a beloved creation from the caring supervision of its progenitors and tossing it into the clumsy mitts of strangers is always likely to rile fans of a videogame franchise.
