    About six months ago, the Grand Theft Auto franchise made its debut on the Nintendo DS. Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars was built from the ground up for the DS and while influenced by the old top-down GTA games on the PC, it inherited a lot of the modern flair from Grand Theft Auto IV . However, it was the over-the-top nature of the story and the crafting with the DS in mind that helped the game stand out. Read more

    Incidentally, weapons are in plentiful supply and can be ordered from Ammu-Nation's Web site using your occasionally sluggish in-game PDA. There are more than 20 different weapons to play with in Chinatown Wars, including everything from fists, flashbangs, and flamethrowers to swords, shotguns, and sniper rifles.     I lost my DS a month or so ago. It was during the time I was reviewing Scribblenauts. I think I may have put it down somewhere and my brain, lulled into a dreamlike state by Scribblenauts' quirky and addictive gameplay, simply forgot to remember where that "somewhere" is. My biggest regret is that I never got to play Chinatown Wars on the DS; the game is sitting unused on my desk, haunting my thoughts.
