These facilities serve as lines of defense, and whether they stand or fall has a large impact on how battles play out. Attackers can plant charges to destroy these assets and gain a foothold, while properly equipped defenders can repair them to push the tide back. These struggles are intense and engaging, as players strive to thrust at the enemy, support their teammates, and leverage their individual loadouts to help their faction gain ground. Read more

It's been a while since something so technically awesome (256-players online, no lag) has also been fun and enjoyable to play at the same time. With the game only set to improve with future updates and potential for more maps, weapons and skins, MAG is one of the few games which will last and last if team-based FPSs are your thing. MAG isn't the second coming, as it's been hyped to be, but that doesn't mean it's a bad game at all. If you're getting sick of Mel Gibson and fancy a new action hero then MAG is worth checking out. In many ways it's better than the current standard. Pros Plenty of players at this stage and decent servers with little or no lag. Great sound and decent graphics. Control layout makes sense and even though it's tough at first, the well spaced upgrades drive you to continue. Read more

    • No single player element. Tough learning curve not helped by poor load outs for new players. Generic theme has been done before.

M.A.G. is a very solid online FPS game and Zipper Interactive should be commended on their very good netcode and server performance, especially with the 256 player maps that they are offering. Team work is a major focus and solo gunners may find themselves looking at the death screen very often. Read more

MAG is a game being sold on ambition. Let's be honest, if you looked at most of the points on the box, you'd assume that this is a standard multiplayer first person shooter. You know, one set in the near future with some sort of new global war happening, with various private military corporations fighting for territory and resources, set in various vaguely-foreign landscapes with high-tech military equipment.
