Despite the technical issues Heavy Rain is one of the most engrossing, engaging and unique games of this generation. Quantic Dream have repaid the faith Sony had in them, and we highly recommend this title to all. If you're still on the fence, at the very least, give the demo on the Playstation Store a shot. Heavy Rain is a dramatic thriller (point and click) adventure game. I must preface all of this by saying that I have sat through Avatar - twice - and I still think its a great movie. I'm prepared to ignore that godawful story just to see those cutting edge visuals. I guess I find it easy to overlook bad things when I find other good things that I really like. I could probably add to both of those lists, but I would be here all day. There is a very big difference between films and video games, films are a more simple mechanism for getting across entertainment or messages where as video games provide you an interactive story, something that requires your brain to manuvere through a lengthy storyline. Heavy Rain attempts to bridge the gap by providing an interactive narrative whilst not allowing you to stray from the storyline or even fail at the game. This is the games biggest downfall.
