Sadly, the troublesome movement gets in the way of your sneaky attacks. It can be mild fun to get in position above an unsuspecting marine and pounce, but the unwieldy movement and haphazard level design make it much more enjoyable just to stay on the ground. For example, you might try to pounce from a wall onto a passing victim, only for a beam to get in the way and cause you to drop right in front of your enemy without doing a bit of damage. Aliens vs. Predator could have been a great game. For however many positives it seems to have, it seems to have twice as many negatives. The single-player experience can be fun in some areas, but it lacks overall originality, especially in the marine campaign. The melee-focused and stealth-focused gameplay of the Alien and Predator campaigns respectively have too much of a steep learning curve, and beyond some nostalgic moments throughout the single-player experience... Before I played Aliens vs Predator, I failed to comprehend how developers with the support of a hit movie behind them, can fail to make an incredible game. I figured, with Alien, Predator and AvP behind them, it would be very hard, if not impossible, to make an unsuccessful one. I was, as normal, proven wrong as AvP proved that NOTHING can stop a game from being dissapointing. To be fair to Rebellion, the game isn't overlly crap, just a massive story full of missed...
