If you've avoided reading the countless gobs of praise or don't bother normally with it anyway, then rest assured Okami is still 100% quality. But if you've had your enthusiasm sapped somewhat by knowing that overseas everyone and their dog has already finished the game and are ready to move onto the likes of God of War 2... harden up. No matter which year it's come out in, this is a must-buy title for PS2 owners. Read more

    • Imaginative and engrossing game mechanic, Masterful dialogue and translation
    • More options for brush control!, Wii version anyone?

Although the PS2 has played host to its fair share of rubbish, as the console approaches its inevitable demise it’s become home for a slew of unforgettable releases, from the hysterical Guitar Hero to Metal Gear Solid: Subsistence’s online sneakathons. And in Capcom’s luscious Okami, the PS2 finally has a quest to rival Nintendo’s Legend Of Zelda. Read more

It's strange that there haven't been many Zelda clones in the 3D era. Most successful games will have their formula copied countless times – half of the N64's library seemed to be based on Super Mario 64 , and your local game shop probably have enough Grand Theft Auto wannabes on the shelves to fill the grand canyon two-thirds of the way up. Traditional Japanese art comes alive through beautiful scenic 3D levels that have the appearance and texture of paper scrolls brushed with watercolour-like calligraphy art. As a god in the form of a wolf, Amaterasu must reclaim its powers that are scattered throughout the earth, in order to help restore the land to its former beauty. As players progress through the game, they will travel to different regions in search of the other godly embodiments that are hidden, an…
