Guitar Hero II is everything good about Guitar Hero 1, but with plenty of extra added goodies to keep even the experts busy for a long time to come. At the very least, if you are just after a new set of songs, Guitar Hero 2 is a worthwhile purchase. At its best, it is a major upgrade from the previous edition and is a far more enjoyable multiplayer experience than the first. Pros Practice mode makes learning tough songs so much easier. • Practice mode makes learning tough songs so much easier. Broken Hammer-ons are now not broken. Great new multiplayer modes. It’s Guitar Hero!!
    • Arguably not the best track list. 3rd party controllers do not work. Playing bass sounds like a good idea, but just isn’t.

I thought the game would be good, but I was blown away. Addictive, fun, frantic, entertaining, and original. One of the greatest games of the current era. Read more

Having unleashed the world’s most delirious rhythm-action game, the developers of Guitar Hero have sensibly opted to avoid fixing what plainly ain’t broke. Who would have thought Guitar Hero would have been such a hit? Music games have rarely sold well, especially those that require you to shell out for a peripheral to even play it, but RedOctane and Harmonix bucked the trend and produced not only something that sold but something that was remarkably brilliant at the same time. A sequel was inevitable and in just under a year Guitar Hero II is here to punish our fingers harder than ever before. Read more

It has amazingly wide ranging appeal and is one the most humorous and outright fun games I have ever experienced. This is utterly wonderful in every possible way and I love it to death. I reckon Guitar Hero 2 is truly a game that everybody should own! Read more
