Part of the reason melee weapons are so fun to use is that the infected die in a lot of gruesomely entertaining ways. Dismemberment and gibbing have been ratcheted up in Left 4 Dead 2, so you'll be chopping off limbs and blowing holes in zombie abdomens like you were born to do it. The common infected models are more diverse and detailed, and there are a number of tougher variants that pose a bit more of a challenge. Read more

As with L4D1 this is a brainless zombie shooter that aims to entertain. If you have a choice between 360 and PC it’s not hard to decide which one you purchase. If there are no boundaries to importing ditch the local version and find a way to get yourself an uncensored copy as this game’s gore is that cherry on top of an already sweet tasting sundae. Pros Larger range of weapons and items AI Director improvements 360: A refined experience from the first. Read more

While the zombie apocalypse is certainly not a new genre for popular culture to tap into, Valve did a commendable job of presenting gamers with a title that appealed to the action loving masses. Where's Bruce Campbell when you need him? The iron-chinned one is the only thing missing from Valve's exquisite corpse, Left 4 Dead 2, which easily ranks as one of this year's best releases. The sequel to last year's co-op fuelled undead shooter makes no bones about taking everything that was rank, rotting and amazing from the first game and cranking up the gore, excitement and atmosphere to at least eleven on the dial. Blood all over your screen, guts hanging out of zombies, getting launched 50m in the air by tanks, the increase of witches, chainsaws, axes, cricket bats and much much more... This game is exactly what sequals are about - and not just a cheap excuse by the company to lure fans in using high expectations, but cutting budget because they know it will still sell. The graphics are the next step up, as is the violence. Team work is needed to pass some missions... Read more
