    This camera has many of the qualities we expect from Nikon – responsiveness, excellent ergonomics and consistent image processing – in a lightweight body. On its own terms it is a fine camera and no doubt will retail for considerably less than its RRP. For anyone who is content with the kit and has no aspirations to own better lenses and couldn’t care less about exposure bracketing – in other words wants the simplest DSLR – then the D60 is a winner. The Nikon D60 is a compact 10.2 mega pixel digital SLR camera. Features

The Nikon D60’s sensor follows a DX format and is of a CCD type, measuring 15.8 x 23.6 mm with a total number of 10.75 million pixels and 10.2 million effective pixels. Its image area in DX-format measures 3872 x 2592 in large, 2896 x 1944 in medium and 1936 x 1296 in small. It can also perform top continuous shooting at full resolution at a speed of 3 frames per second, with single continuous shooting options. As for its monitor, its size measures 2.5 inches diagonally an dis of a TFT-LCD type, with a resolution of 230,000 dots and monitor adjustments of 7 brightness levels. Its shutter is of an electronically controlled vertically-travel focal-plane that has a fastest shutter speed of 1/4000 seconds in steps of 1/3 EV and slowest shutter speed of 30 seconds in steps of 1/3 EV, with bulb shutter setting. The Nikon D60 supports storage media in the form of SD and SDHC memory cards, in storage systems of AVI, compressed 12-bit NEF (RAW) JPEG (Baseline Compliant). Its file system is compliant with DCF 2.0 and EXIF 2.21. Besides that, exposure modes include programmed auto (P) with flexible program, shutter-priority auto (S), aperture-priority auto (A), manual (M) and digital vari-program. Its interfaces include Hi-speed USB, NTSC and PAL. The Nikon D60 has a Nikon F bayonet lens mount and is compatible with lenses including AF-S and AF-I NIKKOR with all functions supported, Type G or D AF NIKKOR not equipped ith an autofocus motor with all functions supported except for autofocus, IX-NIKKOR and AF NIKKOR for F3AF not supported and TYPE D PC NIKKOR with all functions supported except some shooting modes.
